Test A (Autumn)
This Year 7 Foundation Mathematics assessment tests understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages, including conversions between forms and ordering values. Questions cover place value and rounding, number patterns, algebraic expressions and simplification, solving simple equations, and using inequality symbols. The paper also includes work with number lines, calculation of median and range, and percentage representation on grids.
Test A (Spring)
This Year 7 foundation mathematics paper contains non-calculator questions testing number operations, fractions, negative numbers, algebra, and data interpretation. Topics include subtraction with large numbers, addition and subtraction of fractions, reading bar charts and frequency trees, temperature change, solving linear equations, calculating area of triangles, metric conversions, decimal operations, and simplifying algebraic expressions. Word problems involve real-world contexts such as car parks, pet shops, running distances, and baking.
Test A (Summer)
This Year 7 Foundation Mathematics assessment covers geometry (perpendicular and parallel lines, angles in triangles and quadrilaterals, measuring with protractors), number operations (multiplication, addition, subtraction), fractions and percentages, area and perimeter of parallelograms and trapeziums, probability with dice and sweets, prime and square numbers, set notation, sequences, basic algebra including solving equations, and problem-solving with money and population data.
Test A (Autumn)
This Year 7 mathematics assessment tests number operations, algebra, fractions and decimals, and data handling. Questions cover place value, solving equations, simplifying algebraic expressions, converting between fractions/decimals/percentages, number sequences, function machines, and standard form. Students work with number lines, addition pyramids, and word problems involving doubling and subtraction. The paper also includes finding medians and ranges from data sets.
Test A (Spring)
This Year 7 mathematics higher test contains questions on negative numbers, algebra (solving equations and simplifying expressions), arithmetic operations including addition pyramids, decimals, fractions (addition and subtraction), area of trapeziums, standard form, mean calculations, interpreting distance charts, and analysing bar charts. Questions include both procedural calculations and multi-step problem-solving.
Test A (Summer)
This Year 7 higher tier mathematics assessment contains questions covering prime numbers, division using factor methods, ordering decimals and percentages, multiplication and division with decimals, fractions and negative numbers, powers and calculations, polygon properties including interior angles, geometric construction using protractor and compasses, algebraic equations and sequences, angle reasoning with parallel lines, Venn diagrams and probability, standard form and ordering large numbers, and proof involving triangle properties.
